Bestbuy said to contact WD, then said to contact Geek Squad (no charge) to resolve this, then Geek Squad said I have to pay before they will look into this (I am not going to pay more for something that should have been covered, or most likely for them to tell me to go back to WD).Īfter many hours on Chat, I got no where. WD asked for Bestbuy invoice and photo of the drive S/N which I sent, then they stopped responding. After many back and forth between Best Buy and WD digital, nothing was resolved, just passing the responsibility. But when I went to register for warranty, WD said this is it’s either an OEM product or the warranty has been voided or it may not be a valid product.īestBuy told me not to worry and assured me that this is a new drive covered under 3yr warranty and to go back to WD.
